Who is the Most Popular Character in The Office?

Who's the star of The Office? Is it Michael? Dwight? Or some combination of Jim and Pam, given the focus on their relationship?

One way to answer that question is to see which character is talked about the most. This allows us to see both who's in conversation and who's the topic of conversation (perhaps behind that person's back!).

By using transcript data from all episodes of the Office, I analyze the frequency with which certain characters mention other characters throughout the show. In doing so, we can explore this question and answer: Who is the most popular character in The Office?

Note: The size of the ribbons corresponds to the relative dialogue surrounding that character. If a ribbon matches the color of a source, that means that that character mentioned his/her conversation partner more than they were mentioned. Because all of Michael's ribbons are blue, this means he always mentioned others more than he was mentioned.
